Audrey's work often delves into storytelling through abstractionism and symbolic imagery, and Blossoms is no exception. Inspired by the transient beauty of the Cherry Blossom Festival in Toronto’s High Park Audrey explores themes of identity, creative expression and our core connection with nature as a source of inspiration. Her photographs of two visitors to the festival, one of a young man in drag and the other of a girl in a white lace dress celebrate the human spirit in flow with nature. In Blossoms, Audrey selects these two visitors, taken on two different years in the park and brings them together for this moment in time surrounding them in vivid floral motifs—bold reds and pinks that conjure images of cherry blossoms interwoven with abstract elements that create a sense of magic and mystery. It’s a celebration of nature’s wild joy and the human expression that is drawn to interact, reflect and celebrate nature’s exquisite beauty.
