In this mixed-media composition Audrey merges vibrant acrylic paints with photo collage to evoke a nostalgic yet surreal scene. A modest, weathered cottage rests in a vividly imagined landscape, its textured roof and foliage contrast with the bold, luminous greens and fiery reds of the background. The striking interplay between natural and artificial elements invites viewers to reflect on the passage of time and the blending of memory with imagination. A woodpecker perched nearby adds a whimsical, grounding detail to the dreamlike setting. As a side note, one week after this work was completed, the cottage was torn down and replaced with a more modern structure, leaving this piece to record the history.
